An awareness session entitled “The Mental Health in Times of War”

As part of its efforts to promote mental health and psycho social support for communities affected by crises, Cedar Center for Legal Studies, in collaboration with the Development Services Center in Kfarhazir – North Lebanon, organized an awareness session entitled “The Mental Health in Times of War” on 18 June 2026.

The session targeted humanitarian workers who had provided services in shelters during the period of war and displacement, along with several families from the local community. A total of 11 Lebanese women, aged between 48 and 63 years old, participated in the session.

The session was led by Nour Al-Houda Al-Hassan, a psychotherapist at Cedar Centre, who addressed the psychological and social impacts of war and displacement, highlighting the importance of caring for mental health and strengthening resilience in the face of daily pressures and challenges. The session also provided a safe space for participants to share their experiences and discuss the difficulties they encountered while carrying out humanitarian work under the conditions of war and displacement.

The program also featured an intervention by lawyer Nour Ghanem Al-Dhaybi from the Center, who shed light on the legal services offered by Cedar Center for Legal Studies, in addition to introducing its rehabilitation services and the dedicated helpline for receiving cases and complaints, and providing appropriate legal, psychological, and social support.

This initiative was organized in recognition of the significant contributions made by humanitarian workers during the war and displacement, and as part of Cedar Centre’s commitment to continuing its support for crisis‑affected groups and strengthening their access to protection and comprehensive assistance services.
